As I begin week 3 of having a broken light switch in my bathroom, I remind myself that just because someone has a partner – it doesn’t mean that partner is “handy.”YOU might be the handiest in the relationship (Yes, you know I’m thinking of you CE & S!)
I’m pretty handy. Sometimes I long for someone to fix stuff for me and some days I’m grateful that being solo means I get that satisfaction of doing it myself. OK, who am I kidding, I’d rather someone do it for me… someone. Anyone.
Sometimes, having a partner gets things fixed faster just because there’s another person around to complain about not being able to see in the bathroom. Being alone with a two year old, I can get away with a lot. I’m grateful that Spenser won’t remember things like finding old peas on the floor and bags of give away stuff living in corners for months. I’ll be so much neater when he’s older… for sure!
When I have my free time, do I choose to write, clean, work on my taxes, shower or fix the light switch which may actually lead to frustration and a time waste and I’ll have to end up hiring someone to fix it anyway?
I bought the replacement part. Maybe I’ll try to fix it tonight. Or tomorrow.
Here’s a nice St. Paddy’s day recipe for healthy “green mac & cheese.”
